Meet The Team At Ashley Homes

Often people comment that it's unique to see a woman as a custom-home builder.
I know, I know, it's a man's trade; I hear that all the time.

But when it comes to making all the detail decisions in building your new home, who drives the decisions? As long as the garage is three times the size of the house, has wiring that only 'Tim The Tool Man Taylor' would appreciate, and of course has a full basement for that future big-screen that you plan to buy--who really plans all the other details? I mean those details that make a new home truly functional and enjoyable.

Well, in my experience, it's typically the women who plan these details.

Details like:
  • Rooms big enough to fit the kids' beds and desks.
  • Large doors that open in the right direction.
  • Electrical switches that aren't behind a door.
  • Remote control for the ceiling fans and fireplace.
  • Double shelving in a walk-in closet so there's room for everyone's stuff.
  • A laundry room with a sink and a counter to fold clothes on.
  • Colors and décor that make your house a true retreat from the rest of the world.
When I'm designing a house, I plan larger windows to capture the view of your land. I plan outlets centered to the front windows so you can plug in candles. I think about the little things--like the color of your outlets, the outside vent for the dryer, ample shelving in every closet, how the utility lines enter the basement so we can achieve an open plan for future finishing. Do you need lines for a future bathroom in the basement? We'll discuss that too.
I spend hours planning and reviewing the electrical layout. We'll discuss issues such as overhead fan-lights with two switches on the wall, and can-type lights to accent dark areas. Do you need a phone in the garage? What about a second dishwasher? You see, I try to think of all the little things, so you don't have to!

A Team & Family Effort

Meet the team at Ashley Homes

Lisa, the owner, is the creative engine behind the design, architecture, and decor of every home that Ashley Homes builds.

Mark Huddleston--Construction Job Superintendent. He manages the day-to-day construction at all of our jobsites; he is your main contact during the construction of your home. (Hint: he likes chocolate brownies!)
Bob Salyers--Construction Assistant. Bob is responsible for floor prep, keeping jobs clean, and punch-out work.
Connie Damron--Administrative Assistant. Connie is our administrative assistant. Connie handles everything from A-Z. She is that sweet southern voice you hear when you call in!
Linda Cochenour--Interior Decorating. Linda is our interior decorator. Although she may seem a little shy at first, don’t let that fool you! Linda has won numerous awards for her interior-decorating designs and has had her work photographed for magazines throughout the nation.

See Our Team At Work

We make ourselves available to you during every phase of the construction; we want to be sure all your questions are answered, and that you are happy with every facet of your new home.
No detail is too small; we want to be sure that all aspects of your home decor complement each other. For example, when possible, we match the trip lever on the commode to the faucet.
Guests mingle during our Adelane open house. We always invite you to ask questions and to examine every aspect of our homes.
The team at Ashley Homes: From left, Gary (office support staff), CJ (construction manager), Keith (office support staff), Connie (office secretary), Lisa (owner, home designer). Don't be surprised if you walk in the office and find an array of selection pallets, such as ceramic tile, grout samples, faucets, a light book, door handles, cabinet and hardware samples, paint chips, carpet, cushions, fabric--you name it! Although it may look like a tornado came through, its just Lisa hard at work pulling the scheme of your house together!

A Company With A History

Ashley Homes is a company with a (pardon the pun) solid foundation.

My father & brother David, July 1980. Our father, Carl Adams, was a union carpenter. He started his own business remodeling and building homes, and later began to specialize in commercial and residential garage doors. His business was called Adams Overhead Garage Doors and he was one of the most honest, hard-working men in the industry. Dad infected us with the fever to do what we're doing. Several of our uncles also worked in the different trades and it's just in our blood. I remember as a young child, my Dad had all three of us kids nailing down the sub-floor of our new home. I remember him trying to teach me to concentrate on the head of the nail and trying to drive it in with just one swing. It's funny, I also remember him showing me how to yank out the bent nails………..but I have no idea where they came from………they must have been my brothers'!!

My brother CJ, his wife Valli and daughter Lauren; my "favoritest" brother David and his wife Lisa; my daughter Ashley, myself, and my husband Mike.

Why Ashley Should Be Your Next Builder

We offer the level of service that you want and expect. Your home is the single most important investment you'll ever make, and we treat that investment with all the respect it deserves.

We are a small company; we build only about 8-12 homes a year.

Unlike many of our competitors, we can therefore promise you that we will be involved in each and every phase of the construction of your house--from the design of the plans to the professional cleaning at the end of construction. (I've even been known to clean a few bathtubs during the house-cleaning phase, but I'd honestly like to get away from that!!!)

We're not the absolute cheapest builder.
With the cheapest builder, you end up with a house that looks like it was built by the cheapest builder.
Instead, we use higher-quality materials and keep experienced tradesmen on the jobs. We build an awesome house that you will be proud of. And most of all, you'll have a great experience when you build with us. I know this because customers continue to refer their family, friends and co-workers to us.

Our customers become our friends. They send us vacation pictures and even make us home-made desserts! (Hint, hint).

Meet a few of our happy customers; wouldn't you like to be part of the Ashley family?

Thank you for considering Ashley Homes as your builder. I look forward to meeting you in person.
